Charles William Harris, 63, of Newbury Park, September 16th, 2014.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 27th, 1950 to Clarence and Mary Harris. He was the oldest of four brothers; David, Clark and Robert.
Though recently retired, he dedicated over 30 years of his life to special education as a teacher and an administrator. He was a loving father and in recent years a seasoned world traveler.
He loved working on anything that could be beaten with a hammer or tightened with a wrench, especially if he could listen to his favorite band; The Who while doing so. He was a constant tinkerer and could never sit still.
He eventually settled in Newbury Park by way of Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Idaho, Ohio and Michigan.
He died at home after a long bout with cancer. He is survived by his daughter; Carly Ann Switzer-Harris and son; Ramey Adrian Harris.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Special Olympics.
