Maria Lurdes (Domingues) Simoes, 59, of Worcester, passed away Tuesday, September 16th in her home. She leaves her husband of 37 years, Luis H. Simoes; four sons, Paul R. Simoes and his wife Heather of Auburn, Nelson H. Simoes and his wife Valerie of Worcester, Jason M. Simoes of Worcester, and Jeffrey A. Simoes of Worcester; two sisters, Ana Segbefia of Worcester and Noemia Domingues of Hudson; a brother, Duarte Domingues of Marlborough; three grandchildren, Ashlyn, Caden, and Jayden Simoes; and nephews and nieces.
She was born in Portugal, the daughter of Manuel and Ana (Braga) Domingues and moved to the United States in 1975. She lived in Hudson for many years, before moving to Worcester. Maria was a member of Christ the King Church. She enjoyed family gatherings, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
The funeral is Friday, September 19th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, September 18th in the funeral home.
