Paul Augustine Bottari, age 62, passed away unexpectedly in his home in Beaufort, North Carolina on September 14, 2014. Paul was born in Woburn on August 8, 1952 to the late Manuel and Constance Bottari, who raised him in Woburn with his siblings, the late Susan and Robert Bottari.

Paul went to Woburn Memorial High School, studied at Cape Cod Community College, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Keene State College and a Masters' Degree in Religious Education from Liberty University. Paul was an aeronautical engineer at McDonnell Douglas, and then spent over 20 years teaching math and coaching a variety of middle school and high school sports such as track, cross country, baseball, and football. He had an extensive history in the military, ultimately serving as Lieutenant Commander, Aircraft Maintenance Officer, in the Navy Reserve (1988 to 2006). He also served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force (1975 to 1981) and Sergeant in the Army (2006 to 2009). Paul loved traveling, hiking, running, volunteering, horseback riding, motorcycle riding, collecting model trains, supporting charitable causes, stamp collecting, reading, and genealogy. Despite living outside of Massachusetts since 1990, he remained a devoted Red Sox fan. He was a lifelong student of American history and astronomy. He loved all animals and animals loved him back.

Paul was the beloved husband of Rosario Bottari, and the devoted father of Rachael Bottari Chan and her husband Jarreth of Pleasanton, CA, Martin Bottari and his wife Kelly of Belchertown, and Erika Fernandez of Pembroke Pines, FL.. He was the loving grandfather of Raizo Chan, Christian Bottari, Brogan Bottari, Adilyn Bottari, and Brielle Bottari.

A memorial service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday, September 20th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held on Friday, September 19th, from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with military honors and inurnment at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
