Obituary

Laconia----Jean Guy “Jeff” Sauve, 89, died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon on Sunday, September 14, 2014. His passing marked the end of a full, rich life, one characterized by hard work, selfless service to community, a devotion to church, an interest in family history, and a large, loving family.
Born June 6, 1925 in Manchester, N.H., to the late George and Albertine (Gagne) Sauve, Mr. Sauve grew up with three brothers and two sisters. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Together, these experiences no doubt prepared him to be a good father to the nine children he would have with his beloved wife Rita (Picard). Mr. Sauve was employed at Pratt & Whitney for over thirty years before retiring in 1982. But he also worked several other jobs at this time to provide for his family. After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Laconia. But Mr. Sauve continued to work, now as a volunteer at Lakes Region General Hospital.
In addition, Mr. Sauve was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church where he was a lecture and Eucharistic Minister. He was also a dedicated and skilled researcher when it came to family genealogy and was often at work on completing the family trees of his friends and acquaintances.
Mr. Sauve is survived by his nine children, Mark, Gail, James and his wife Doreen, Elaine and Lisa, Patricia, Linda and Laura, Jacqueline, Denise and her husband, Nello, and Thomas, fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sauve was predeceased by three brothers, two sisters and by his wife Rita.
