Mary R. "Maroe" Duffey (Furey) age 89 of Westwood, formerly of Canton passed away at home September 15th surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Somerville, she graduated from Somerville High School and Fisher Jr. College. She previously worked for the Federal Bankrupcy Court in Boston and as a secretary for an Investment Firm. She has lived in Westwood since 2006 and previously lived in Canton for over 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading and sang as a church soloist for weddings and funerals. Beloved wife of the late Charles T. Mother of Tracy Duffey Finstein and her husband Harvey of Newtonville, Brian Duffey and his wife Kate of Scituate and Mary R. “Mimi” Duffey of Westwood. Sister of Kay Slein of Dedham, Joan Ward of Norwood, Frank Furey, Jack Furey both of Winchester and the late Anne Whelan, William Furey and Edward Furey. Grandmother of Michael and Matthew Finstein, Annie Duffey, Tracey Duffey Katherine Rose Duffey, Caitlyn Carter, Nicole Barnes and Sean Barnes. Great grandmother of Braydon and Chase . Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Saturday morning at 10.
