FALL RIVER- Jose Arruda, 62 of Fall River, passed away Sep. 14, 2014. Born in Santa Barbara, Santo Antonio, São Miguel, Açores, the son of Maria de Lourdes (Batista) Arruda and the late Leonardo Arruda. Prior to retiring, Jose worked for American Dryer as a Machine Operator. He was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by children: Lucinda Arruda of Fall River, Melissa Arruda, Bilinda Arruda, Jason Arruda, & Josh Arruda all of New Bedford; his siblings: Maria Adriano, Gorette Aguiar, Carlos “Charlie” Arruda, & Susan Levesque all of Fall River, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur Arruda.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on WEDNESDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours TUESDAY 5-7 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
