Harroll R. Fortenberry
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, September 15, 2014, Harroll R. Fortenberry, 81, husband of Eleanor Wolbert Fortenberry of Augusta.
Mr. Fortenberry was a member of Warren Baptist Church. He served 23 years in the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and retired from the Corp of Engineers.
Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Carol Lynne Fortenberry Callahan (Bobby) of Grovetown, Linda Gail Fortenberry Downs (Bobby) of Thomson and Mary Sue Gardner (Jim) of Missouri; step sons: Richard Wolbert (Pam) of Orange Park, FL, Robert Wolbert(Cathy) of Evans and John Wolbert (Sherry) of Evans; 17 children and a number of great grandchildren; and sister: Elizabeth Wayne Von Pingle (Leo) of Jackson, MS. Mr. Fortenberry was preceded in death by his father: Hope Cecil Fortenberry; mother Dolly Bell Cosper Fortenberry; son: Harroll Michael Fortenberry and wife: Hazel Romell Fortenberry.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Dave Dillard officiating. Interment will follow with full Military Honors in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
