Alfred J. Dello Russo of Medford passed away peacefully at the deRham Hospice in Cambridge. He was 93.

Alfred was born and raised in Boston, the son of the late Anthony and Emelia (Buonfrate) Dello Russo. Alfred served as a medic with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He attended Burdette College and worked for 37 years at the General Electric Plant in Lynn and was proud to be a gear hobber. After his service in the military Alfred became a member of the American Legion Post 45 in Medford and eventually became the Post Commander, the first Italo-American to hold that position.


The beloved husband of the late Ethel (Conte) Dello Russo, he was a devoted father to Marie Cahalane and her husband Timothy of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Lisa Marie Kane and her husband Jeffrey, and Scott T. Cahalane, all of Medford. He also leaves his dear great-grandchildren Molly and Declan.

At Alfred’s request services will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Alfred's name to the deRham Hospice, 65 Chilton St., Cambridge, MA 02138.
