Laura Lee (Makings) Oldham Nicholson, 83, of Anderson, IN went to be with her Lord on September 10, 2014. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas Reed Oldham and is survived by her husband, Robert Nicholson of Anderson, IN.

Born in Trenton, Nebraska, August 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Weaver Charles Makings and Edith Grace (Perkins) Makings. She was a member of Park Place Church of God in Anderson and prior to that was a long time member of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA.

In addition to her first husband, Doug and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, John Johnson.

She is survived by three daughters, Paula (Oldham) Johnson of Lynchburg, VA Karen Oldham (Garry) Offenbacker of Williamstown, NJ and Rebekah Oldham (Lee) Cox of Lynchburg, VA; step sons, Paul (Rita) Nicholson of Anderson; Gary (Thonja) Nicholson of Anderson; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer (Jordan) Slattery of Fortville; Christopher (Laurae Rettig) Nicholson of Mary Esther, FL; Bethany (Matthew) Holcomb of Anderson; Lisa (Kirk) Bodach of South Bend;Amy (Larry) Oliver of Anderson; Josh Mason of Indianapolis; Jamaica (Terry) Conner of Lynchburg, VA; John Johnson of Richmond, VA; Jessie (Nathaniel) Johnson of Williamstown, NJ; Nate Offenbacker of Williamstown, NJ and Emily Cox of Lynchburg, VA; and a total of nineteen great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Park Place Church of God. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service in the Bessie Byrum Lounge.

Additional services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA with visitation from noon until 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the Founders Memorial at Liberty University.
