Obituary

William R. Crown, 81, of Walpole died September 12, in his home following a long illness. He was the husband of Shirley (Carlson) Crown.
Born in Peterborough, New Hampshire, June 4, 1933, the son of the late Roger and Helen (Brown) Crown, Mr. Crown was a lifelong Walpole resident.
He was a graduate of Boston Trade School in 1951.
Mr. Crown worked for AT&T for 33 years before retiring as a toll testman.
Mr. Crown served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge AFAM, of Walpole and the North Walpole Fish and Game club.
He was an avid hockey fan who had played on the Walpole Sweepers and coached both pee wee and bantam youth hockey in Walpole.
Bill enjoyed fishing and deer hunting and loved dancing. Bill loved to have a good time.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Christopher Crown and his wife Juanita of Walpole, Karen Crown of Olympia, Washington, Cynthia Thulin of Walpole and the late Donald Thulin and Allison Sears and her husband Jamie of Walpole.
He is also survived by his sister Pat Arthur of Sagamore Beach and 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his best friend Hildy.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 16 in the United Church of Walpole at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street, Walpole.
