Obituary

Whitman – Richard H. “Ricky” Baker, Jr. 25, a lifelong resident of Whitman, died unexpectedly Monday September 8.

Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman, he was the son of Richard H. and Janine (Rondeau) Baker of Whitman and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School, Class of 2007.

He has worked as security for Brockton Hospital, had delivered parts for Advanced Auto of Weymouth and most recently delivered and installed countertops for Warerite of East Bridgewater.

He enjoyed riding and maintaining his BMX, dirt bikes and street bikes. He especially enjoyed his dads Kawasaki Vulcan 1500.

Ricky loved fishing in fresh water as well as fishing, clamming and quahogging in salt water, while listening to his music. His greatest joy came from the many hours spent with his best four legged girl Kahli.

In addition to his loving parents Richard and Janine he is survived by sisters Ashley Baker of Whitman, Robin Sullivan and her husband Ron of Hanson and Cynthia Baker and her longtime companion Bob Cavacco of Hanson. He is also survived by his godmother Robin Baker of Whitman. Ricky is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, one nephew and three nieces. He was the grandson of the late Evelyn and Louis Rondeau and the late Frank and Grace Baker. Ricky also leaves behind his girlfriend Casey O’Loughlin of Weymouth, as well as many, many loving friends.

His services will be held Monday September 15 at 10:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 11AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Sunday September14 from 2-6 PM.
