Gilford-----Floyd Nelson Moody, 88, of 9 Lily Pond Road, died at Pleasant View Center in Concord, Saturday, September 6, 2014.
Mr. Moody was born December 24, 1925 in Laconia, N.H., the son of the late Clarence N. and Nannie B. (Pease) Moody.
Mr. Moody was raised in Belmont and resided there until moving to Gilford in 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy and had been employed at Scott & Williams as well as Davis Tool and Astro Ball Bearing before retiring in the fall of 1987.
Mr. Moody loved gardening, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Evelyn (Rolfe) Moody; two sons, Michael J. Moody and F. Nolan Moody; five daughters, Bonnie Sewell, Tina Jurta, Janelle Labarre and her husband, Richard, Jennifer McGonagle and Emily Louise Moody; fifteen grandchildren, Sean, Chris and Matt Sewell, Melissa Genakos, Jake Jurta, Brendan, Evan and Allison Labarre, Cameron, Elouise and Mason McGonagle, Dan, Mary, Emeree and Jack Moody; six great grandchildren; a brother, Niel Moody; a sister, Avis Boatner; five nieces, Nanette, Laura, Dina, Lisa and Everly and three nephews, Audie, Gary and Keith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moody was predeceased by two brothers, Wendell and Elson Moody and by a sister, Shirley Ladd.
There will be no calling hours.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Gilford Community Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at a later date in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.
