WEBSTER – Emily P. (Langer) Racicot, 96, died Sunday in Berkshire Nursing Center, Providence after a period of declining health.
She leaves a son, John Homer Racicot; a daughter, Barbara E. Menoche of Providence, RI; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Rudolph, John, Jerry and Frank Langer and by 2 sisters, Mary Gursky and Agnes D’Angelo.
She was born in Webster, daughter of Rudolph and Mary (Mach) Langer and lived here most of her life. She moved to Providence 5 years ago.
Mrs. Racicot was employed at Webster Shoe for 9 years and then as a final inspector at Webster Lens Company. She retired in 1977.
She was a member of St. Joseph Basilica. She was a former member of the St. Anthony’s Women’s Club and the Webster Senior Center. She enjoyed playing bingo. She liked to buy cookies to feed children in the neighborhood.
The funeral will be held Thursday, September 11, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday, Sept. 10, in the funeral home.
