VENTI, John A. of Walpole, formerly of Dedham and Manomet, age 86, left this earth surrounded by his loving family on September 2, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Janet (Cull) Venti with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. The devoted and only child born to the late Donato and Eugenia Venti.
John was born and raised in Quincy a graduate of Quincy HS, he was a US Army WWII Veteran and a proud graduate of Boston College (1951). Employed by New England Telephone/NYNEX retired in 1990 as Director of Sales Development and consulted for many years after that. Active in Scouting, Little League, Dedham's Retired Men's Club and St. Denis Parish.
Loving father of Kenneth Venti and his wife Paula of Needham, Diane Hanlon and her husband Edward of Hanson, Paula Britt and her husband James of Hingham, Kevin Venti and his wife Elizabeth of Brookline, and Jonelle McGrath and her husband Robert of Franklin. Also survived by his devoted grandchildren, Brendan and Christopher Venti, Sean and Elizabeth Britt, and Jillian and Jack McGrath. He will be remembered for his devotion to family and friends, his love of a good story and his unwavering commitment to his wife in her time of need.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM, Friday, September 5 at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Susanna Church, 262 Needham St., Dedham at 9am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Thursday, September 4 from 4-8pm in the funeral home. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
