Inez (Borges) Riley, age 92 of Fall River, passed away Sep. 2, 2014 at the Catholic Memorial Home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Francis Michael Riley and the daughter of the late Antone & Marianna (Almeida) Borges. Prior to retiring, Inez worked 39 years for Center Garment Mfg. Co. and previously for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. after retiring, Inez worked part time in the cafeteria at the Lincoln School.
She was a member of UNITE, a former recording secretary at the Bowling Green for 30 yrs., a member of the Emblem Club at the Fall River Elks Lodge, a member of the Sacred Heart Seniors, where she would help with their Variety Shows, and was a member of the St. Elizabeth’s Bowling League. Inez enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren, and Summering with her husband at their summer home at Round Meadows in the South Shore.
Inez’s family would like to thank the Nurses and Aides of Unit 3B for their loving care they gave to Inez during her time at Catholic Memorial Home.
She is survived by a daughter: Carol A. Valton, husband Robert J. of Fall River; grandchildren: Kelly A. Borkman, husband Mark, Timothy Valton, wife Virginia, and Thomas Valton, wife Danielle; great grandchildren: Brendon & Brian Borkman, Jessica & Timothy Valton Jr., and Victoria, Allison, & Jack Valton; many nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Antone Borges.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on FRIDAY at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in the SS Margaret & Mary Chapel of Catholic Memorial Home. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
