Myrtle Ruth Cleveland Burke, 74, of Cordele died Monday, September 1, 2014, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Irwinville Cemetery with Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating.
Ms. Burke was born on April 12, 1940 in Summerville and was the daughter of Albert Marion Cleveland and Eula Draper Cleveland, both deceased. She was a welder supervisor at Applied Plastic Company in Jacksonville, Florida.
Ms. Burke is survived by one son, Dana Paul Watson of Copperas Cove, Texas; one daughter, Lynn Pennington of Cordele; one god-daughter, Holly Mitchell of Cordele; two brothers, Carl W. Cleveland of Thomaston and Bobby Cleveland of Fitzgerald; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; and numerous nephews.
