Obituary

Mona P. (Kilmurray) Hill age 89, died peacefully, Friday at the Warde Health Center, Windham, NH. She was born in Pawtucket, RI, grew up and was educated in Methuen, MA, and graduated from Searles High School.

Mona was a retired filing clerk for the State of NH in the Medicaid office in Salem, NH. She had also worked as a library aide in the Salem School District at the Woodbury Jr. High and Fisk Elementary. She also worked as a receptionist for Drs. Casazza and Perry in Andover, MA and for Atty. Jim Troisi and Soule Leslie, & Kidder.

Mona was a beautiful, vibrant, feisty, woman. She had a big personality, strong willed and opinionated, but she had a way of drawing people to her. She lived life to the fullest, always ready for the next adventure. She was a wonderful cook and party planner and loved to entertain in her home filled with her special touches and homemade crafts.

For many years, Mona belonged to the YWCA where she taught swimming. She was a member of St. Monica’s PTA. She enjoyed golfing, skiing, swimming, racquetball, reading, crafts, the beach, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful dancer and ran ballroom dances for years in Methuen. Above all, Mona loved her family with a fierce, unconditional love and devoted herself to home and family for years as a stay at home mom. Being with family was most important to her and she passed on the legacy of always staying together and being there for each other. She never missed a family gathering or one of her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her passing leaves a void in the family that can never be filled. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters: Kathleen and her husband Alan Simonds of Salem, NH,
Robin and her husband Robert Stolarz of Windham, NH, Grandchildren: Robin Lanseigne, David Simonds, Maura Lucacio, Kara Farrell, Nathan Stolarz, Matthew Stolarz, and Kayleen Stolarz, Great Grandchildren: Lauren, Kayla, Haley, Anna, and Brianna, and several nieces and nephews. Mona was predeceased by her sister: Mary Rochon.

Mona’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Warde Health Center for the care Mona received. Their kindness, compassion, and love, will never be forgotten. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Sept. 3rd from 4-8 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, Windham, NH. Urn burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover ,MA
