Obituary

WEBSTER – Richard S. “Gemarco” Theodore, 87, died Friday, August 29, 2014 in Webster Manor after a period of declining health.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Claire E. (Landry) Theodore; a son, Donald E. Theodore of Webster; a daughter, Christine A. Brown-Aldridge and her husband Roy Johnson Aldridge of Winston-Salem, NC; 3 granddaughters, Danielle R. Burgess, Emilee N. Burgess and Jolene M. Hebert; a nephew and 3 nieces. He was preceded in death by his brothers Erwin and Bernard.
He was born on May 8, 1927 in Webster, son of John and Michalena (Wasielewski) Theodore and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1944.
Mr. Theodore worked for 40 years at Bentley Shoe, retiring as a foreman when the shop closed. He then worked for 15 years at Bartlett High School, retiring as head custodian in 2004.
He served on the Webster Board of Health for many years. He was also a member of the building Committee for the new Webster Middle School.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He was a sports fan and rarely missed a Bartlett game. He also enjoyed watching game shows on TV.
Funeral services will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Donations in his name may be made to Bartlett High School Athletic Department, 52 Lake Parkway, Webster, MA 01570. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
