Obituary

Worcester – Leon L. “Chick” Desrosiers, 96, of Worcester, died on Wednesday, August 27th in the Saint Francis Home after an illness.

Leon was married for 66 years to Rita L. (Contois) Desrosiers who died in 2008. He is survived by a daughter, Pauline Kane of Rutland; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Spring of Leicester, Charlene Gott of Bowdoin, ME and Daniel Spring of Sutton; 4 great grandchildren, Matthew, Delaney, Camden and Brady as well as many nephews and nieces. Mr. Desrosiers is predeceased by 5 brothers, Elmer, Alfred, Theodore “Ted”, Edward “Slice” and Russell Desrosiers and two sisters, Corrine Perrault and Emma Desrosiers.

Chick was born in Worcester, son of the late George and Ida (Picard) Desrosiers. He worked as a weaver for 33 years at the former M.J. Whitall Company in Worcester and also worked for 12 years at the former Ionic Ave Boys Club retiring in 1975.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 30th in the chapel of the Saint Francis Home 101 Plantation St. at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 29th from 5 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Memorial contributions in memory of Chick may be made to the Patient Activity Fund c/o Saint Francis Home 101 Plantation St. Worcester, MA 01604.
