Obituary

Bertrand A. “Bert” Lamoureux, 77, of Bellingham died Monday evening at home.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Theodore and Marie (Chabot) Lamoureux. He was a resident of Bellingham for most of his life and attended Bellingham schools.
Mr. Lamoureux was veteran of the United States Air Force.
Bert was the founder and proprietor of Bert’s Auto Repair on Old Elm St. in Bellingham since he first opened for business in 1966. In his earlier years he worked for Tropicana and at several textile mills in the area.
The world of auto mechanics and classic cars was Bert’s lifelong passion. Along with his son Tom, Bert was currently working on the restoration of a 1957 Chevy. Bert also enjoyed salt water fishing, boating, and had his own special culinary talent.
Bert will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. Well-known to his customers and friends in the community as an outgoing and friendly man, Bert also enjoyed holding court at Honey Dew on Pulaski Blvd.
Bert is survived by his son Thomas Lamoureux and his wife, Tina, of Bellingham, three daughters Debra (Lamouruex) Jean of Woonsocket, Vivian Essoi of South Carolina and Ann M. Costello and her husband, Robert, of Blackstone. He was the father of the late Jeanne Sevigny. Bert is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild on the way.
His funeral service will be Saturday at 10:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8 pm.
