Laureana Valenzuela, 88 of Peabody and a former resident of Salem, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, on Monday, August 25, 2014 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Ramon Valenzuela.

Born in La Vega, in the Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Eudosia (Garcia) Gomez. Mrs. Valenzuela moved to New York in 1962 and worked as a home health aid for several agencies in New York. In 2004, following her retirement, she moved to Salem to be with family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Mother of seven she is survived by, Carmen, Juan Ramon & Armondo Valenzuela all of the Dominican Republic, Rosa & Miguelina Valenzuela both of Atlanta, GA, Georgina Valenzuela of Bronx, NY, Laura Valenzuela of Peabody, two brothers, Gabriel & Santiago Garcia and a sister, Ismaela Garcia all of the Dominican Republic. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
