Gilbert was born July 23, 1962 in Ventura and was a lifetime county resident. He was a transmission builder for 30 years and enjoyed fishing, hot rods, donuts and sodas, racing shows on television and going to Pomona with his father.
Gilbert married his high school sweetheart, Kristy Lynn Jeffries. They were together for 35 years and celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary.
Gilbert is survived by his wife Kristy Garcia, Daughters Mendy, Valerie and Valerie all of Ventura.
His father Gilbert Garcia and his wife Della Garcia, of Oxnard. Sisters Debbie Garcia of Oxnard
and Crystal Schultz of Ventura. All of the Bruce Family of Ventura and several nieces and nephews.
Gilbert is also survived by his mother and her husband of Oklahoma who did not care to help or
participate in his care in any way and a sister Peggy in Oxnard whom he never spoke to.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Antonio and Mary Garcia.
