TAUNTON – Lucina “Lucy” (Lewis) Gonsalves of Taunton, died at Marian Manor on Aug. 20, 2014.
She was 86.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Pinheiro) Lewis.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Lucy was a 1946 graduate of Taunton High School.
She was employed by Taunton’s former Haskon Aerospace plant for forty-two years, retiring many years ago.
A communicant of Annunciation of The Lord Church, Lucy was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality, and volunteered on Bingo night at the former Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
She was a former Cub and Boy Scouts Den Mother.
Lucy’s favorite pastime was enjoying the company of her family.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Gonsalves of Florida and Jeffrey Gonsalves and his companion Kimberly LaPlante of Taunton; a daughter, Dareise Donaruma and her husband Michael of Taunton; a brother, Arthur Lewis of Taunton; a sister, Delores Kenney of Taunton; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Frank and John Lewis, Mary Roderick, Hilda Barros, Fannie Locke and Rosalina Neret.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday August 26th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 11 a.m.
Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 25th from 5 to 8 p.m.
