Obituary

Manchester, NH– Pauline “Polly” Hovsepian, 90, died August 20, 2014 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on March 9, 1924 the daughter of Harry and Helen (Aslanian) Mamigonian. She attended and graduated from the Straw School (1938) and Manchester Central High School (1942) and Northeastern University (1946). She spent most of her married life as a homemaker in Needham, MA with her beloved husband, Barkev, and returned to the city of her birth in 2001.
Prior to her retirement she had worked for the US Army Intelligence, secretary to the Dean of Northeastern University, and the Needham Public School System.
She was an accomplished artist, painting was her passion. She enjoyed writing poems for her friends and family, and reading them at get-togethers.
Polly volunteered for various organizations while living in Massachusetts, such as Project Save, the Armenian Photograph Archives, Books for the Blind, and WWII Air Force Reunions.
She was predeceased by her husband Barkev Hovsepian who died October 22, 1997.
Pauline is survived by her son Mark A. Hovsepian and his wife Dawn Mazi-Hovsepian of Manchester, NH, 2 sisters, Aurora Varjabedian of CT., Pam Theodosopoulos and her husband James of Manchester, NH, several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a brother Carroll Mamigonian.
Calling hours will be Sunday, August 24 from 2 to 5 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. Manchester, NH.
A service of remembrance will be celebrated at 4:30 PM during calling hours.
Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, MA.
