Laconia-----Samuel Harry Brooks, 95, of 146 Eastman Road, died at his home on Monday, August 18, 2014.
Mr. Brooks was born August 1, 1919 in Boston, Mass., the son of the late Samuel and Sarah (Matt) Brooks.
Mr. Brooks had been a resident of Laconia for forty-nine years. He served in the U. S. Air Force for twenty-six years. After his retirement from the military, Mr. Brooks worked for the Laconia Fire Department for nine years, retiring in 1976.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife of 69 years, Pearl Pauline (Clairmont) Brooks, of Laconia; a son, Raymond G. Brooks and his wife Louise, of Santa Maria, CA; two daughters, Paula Karl and her husband David of Laconia, and Pamela Brooks of Laconia; 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, David Brooks of North Carolina and Joseph Brooks of Florida. The family wishes to give thanks to Judy Clairmont, sister-in-law and Samantha Dubois, granddaughter, for their loving care in his final weeks of illness.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:30 am at St. Andre Bessette Parish at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH
Burial with military honors will follow at the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
