METHUEN – Sr. Claire Ducharme, 97, passed away Saturday August 16, 2014 at the Saint Claire Residence of the Presentation of Mary in Methuen, MA.
Born in St. Anne de la Rochelle, Canada, she was the daughter of Eugene and Rose (Brien) Ducharme. Sr. Claire entered the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1938 taking her religious name, Sr. Marie Rose. She served the communities of Woonsocket, Linwood, Arctic St. Vincent de Paul, Holyoke, Aldenville, Burlington, Biddeford, Lewiston, Williamansett, North Adams and Mexico before retiring to the Residence Saint Claire in Methuen.
Sr. Claire is survived by a nephew, Paul Ducharme; nieces, Francoise MacDonald, Jaqueline Petterson and Rosanne Hettrick. Sr. Claire is also survived by her cousins, Sr. Yvette Provencher, PM, Marie Magella Beauregard, Monique Foisy, Olivette and Lucille Ares and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be Thursday from 2:00p.m. – 5:00p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00p.m. at the Saint Claire Residence of the Presentation of Mary 209 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 2:30p.m. in the Chapel of the Presentation of Mary with burial to follow in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery also in Methuen, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., Methuen, MA.
