Russell A. Stiles, age 93, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Russ was the husband of 67 years of the late Lillian F. “Babe” (Jordan) Stiles. He is survived by his grandson, Brian R. Stiles and his wife Erin of Scituate, his 3 great grandchildren, Cole, Shawn and Brianne Stiles all of Scituate and his cousin, Harriet Whisman of N. Weymouth. He is predeceased by his son, Robert Stiles.
Russ was born and grew up in Weymouth and lived in Burlington, VT for 7 years before moving to Scituate where he lived for the last 40 years.
He graduated from Northeastern University and was extremely proud to be the captain of their baseball team for 2 years. Russ also played for multiple Boston park leagues and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
The majority of his career was with Raytheon as a foreman and plant manager.
Russell was a 55 year Mason with the Konohasset Lodge A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and General Society of Mayflower Descendants.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Old North Cemetery at North St. in N. Weymouth on Thursday, August 21 at 11 AM.
