Obituary

Joseph T. Dukeman Jr., 55, of Lynnfield, formerly Malden, passed away on August 15, 2014 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joseph was the beloved son of Connie (Vuolo) Dukeman and the late Joseph Dukeman. He was the loving brother of Stephen Dukeman and his wife Pamela of Westwood and Christine Fitzgerald and her husband Robert of Lynnfield. Joseph was the cherished uncle of Cole and Abby Fitzgerald and Ryan and Emily Dukeman. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe was the owner of Sonny’s Barber Shop in Medford, an Eagle Scout, an artist, music lover, skier and Iron Man Triathlete.
Joe lived a life full of fun and adventure. He loved and skied in Killington, Breckenridge, Lake Tahoe, and Alaska. Joe surfed in Hawaii, scuba dived in Bonaire, filmed “The Dogs of Winter” extreme skiing movie series and wind surfed and mountain biked everywhere. Most importantly, Joey collected numerous lifelong friends along the path, whom he cherished. “Joe Mama” was loved by all for his joy, kindness and zest for life and adventure.
Special thanks to those who helped care for Joe, including his medical team at MGH, particularly Erica Barrett, and his family and many friends, in particular Jean Tiernan.
The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, August 20th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 19th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
