STOUGHTON - John Correira, husband of Dorothy “Dottie” (Simonds) Tallarida Correira of Stoughton and the late Blanche M. (Silvia) Correira Treweek, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center on Aug. 14, 2014.
He was 88.
Born in Tewksbury, Mr. Correira was the son of the late John and Clara Dutra.
He was an Army Veteran of WW II.
Employed for many years by Raytheon, where he worked as a technician, Mr. Correira retired many years ago.
For many years, John and his wife spent the warmer months in Sandwich while wintering in Florida, enjoying the ocean and fishing.
In addition to his wife of thirty-three years, he leaves three sons, John Correira and his wife Linda of East Taunton, Ed Correira and his wife Kelley of Taunton, and Steve Correira and his wife Paula of Taunton; a daughter, Marlene Souza and her husband Louis of Georgia; five stepchildren, Robert, Steve and Jon Tallarida, Elaine Barca and Marybeth Machesney; twenty-one grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday Aug. 19th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 18th from 4 to 8 p.m.
