Obituary


Irvin F. Harlow, 68, of Norwood, formerly of Whitman, passed away on Thursday August 14th surrounded by his family and nurse Lorraine at home. He was the beloved husband of Sheila (Perry) Harlow.

He was born in Brockton, grew up in Whitman, a son of the late Courtland L. and Marguerite (Chiros) Harlow. Irvin was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson and Wentworth Institute.

Irvin was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country for 6 years from 1963-1969. He took a lot of pride in being a true Marine through and through, as he did not go down without a courageous fight up to the very end. Oorah!!!!!

He was a Dental Technician for Dickerman Dental Prosthetics in Sharon and was a former employee of the Whitman DPW.

In addition to his loving wife Shelia, he is survived by his son Joseph J. Harlow of Whitman, Michael L. Amirault and his wife Karen of Plainville, Lisa M. (Amirault) Koulouris of Norwood, his brother John Harlow of Kingston; also the proud and loving Papa to Britanie, Kaylie and Rylie Harlow of Whitman, Michael Jr, and Kyle Amirault of Plainville and Anthony M. Amirault of Norwood, who helped him in battling Pulmonary Fibrosis for the past 5+ years; also many nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished and special friends Steve and Robyn. He was also the father of the late Julie Harlow and brother of the late Dr. Courtland (Buddy) Harlow and Mary Harlow.

His services will be held on Saturday August 23rd at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Visitation will be held on Friday August 22nd from 4:00-8:00.
