Mrs. Audrey R. (Smith) Laine, of Tiverton, R.I. and formerly of Taunton, died unexpectedly, Thursday, August 14 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Armand F. “Sonny” Laine, She was born 77 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha (Campbell) Smith. She was educated in Taunton and had been a Tiverton resident for the past 13 years. Prior to her retirement, Audrey had been employed as a supervisor for the R. H. Smith and Son Company of Taunton for 40 years. She enjoyed visiting Foxwoods, camping and traveling.
She leaves: 2 sons: Raymond P. Laine of Taunton, and Russell A. Laine and his wife, Robin of Dighton and Florida; 2 daughters: Lori J. Lindfors and her husband, Karl of Middleboro, and Michelle A. Wilcox and her husband, James of Byron, Ill.; her loving companion, Paul Curelop of Tiverton; 1 brother: Ronald Smith and his wife, Doris of Dighton; a brother-in-law: Raymond A. “Butch” Laine of Carver; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Audrey was also the grandmother of the late Cari Laine of Florida.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Wednesday, August 20 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 TO 8:00 P.M.
