BOYLSTON - Mr. Joseph R. Porcaro passed away Sunday August 10th at UMass Hospital in Worcester.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Therese (Proulx) Porcaro of Boylston; three daughters, Patricia Sheehan of Shrewsbury, Debra Cummings and her husband Donald of Spencer, and Kathleen Solitro and her husband Peter of Holden; he leaves a sister, Rosina Porcaro, a brother, Francis Porcaro; and eight grandchildren, Gina Sheehan, Justine Sheehan, Matthew Cummings, James Cummings, Erica Cummings, Nicole Cummings, Joseph Solitro, and Ava Solitro.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Dennis Porcaro.

Joe was born August 3, 1935 in Worcester, Massachusetts a son to the late Joseph and Angelina (Sena) Porcaro.

Joe was educated through the Worcester Schools, graduating from Commerce High School. He worked in the corrugated box industry.

Joe’s passion was his family. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings, be it at family functions or on the holidays. Joe was clearly the patriarch of the family whose company everybody enjoyed.

Joe had several close personal friends. Some of whom went back to his childhood. He enjoyed his compadres from the East Side Post #201 and more recently the Sunday morning gang at Panera in White City. Joe was very proud of his Italian Heritage. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He loved to talk sports and politics.

The family would also like to acknowledge family and friends who have been supportive throughout his journey. These people meant the world to him and he cherished their bond as family and loyalty as friends.

His funeral will be on Thursday, August 14th with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt Carmel- St Ann Church at 11:00am. There will be NO CALLING HOURS. Interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston, MA. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in Joe’s memory to the American Stroke Association, www.strokeassociation.org.
