Ida Mae Belanger, 92 of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Peabody Glen Healthcare Center in Peabody. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Ida (Theriault) Belanger.
Born and raised in Salem, Ida Mae first worked for CBS Hytron of Salem and later for Sylvania at the Loring Avenue plant. Over the years she also worked at both Danvers locations until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Sylvania Quarter Century Club. Ida Mae was a member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem, for many years and was a member of the League of Catholic Women.
She is survived by a niece, Diane Brown, a cousin, Betty Zimmerman, many friends including her devoted friend Yvonne Gillan. She was predeceased by her sister Irene Belanger and brother Joseph Belanger.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 8:30 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. There are no visiting hours.
