Obituary

WORCESTER – Rose M. (Franco) Bechard, 91, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Paul E. Bechard. She leaves behind three daughters, Anita Marie Francese of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rose Marie Bechard-Butman and her husband Charles Butman of Plantation, Florida, and Paula Ann Ye and her husband Edward Ye of West Brookfield. She also leaves four grandchildren, Kim Connolly, Jason Spiro, Nathan Roberts, and Philip Ye; as well as four great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Rose was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Josephine (Pirro) Franco and Ferdinand Franco. She was predeceased by her four brothers, John Marino, Antonio Maiorano, Arthur Maiorano, and Gilbert Franco; and her two sisters, Frances Cogley and Marie Lundy.

Rose was an expert seamstress. During World War II, she took pride in making uniforms for our military. She was a devoted wife and mother, and enjoyed cooking traditional Italian recipes for her friends and family.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours at Alfred Roy and Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., Worcester, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, in the funeral home.
