Obituary




ANDOVER: Jack Berberian, 88, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 2014 in the Lawrence General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Viola (Danielian) Berberian with whom he shared sixty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Andover on November 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Daniel and Lucia (Asoian) Berberian. He was a lifelong resident of Andover and a graduate of Andover High School, formerly known as Punchard High School. He was also a graduate of Northeastern University and received his Bachelor’s Degree and his MBA in Business Administration.
Jack was a US Army World War II Veteran in the 1296 Combat Engineer’s Division in the Philippines. He worked for many years for the Tyer Rubber Company and also as a Business Administrator for the Andover, Bedford and Ayer Public Schools. He was a former board member of the Andover Home for the Aged and lifetime member of the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church in Lawrence. Jack had a passion for farming and especially liked to spend time tending to his vegetable garden.
In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and football and while attending Northeastern University he was a member of the football team. He also liked to golf throughout the years. Jack’s real love was for his family and the time he was able to spend with them. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Karen Tsolakos and her husband, Constantine of Cape Coral FL., Daniel Berberian and his wife, Madeline and Jonathan Berberian all of Andover; three grandsons, Jack, Christopher and Daniel. He was also predeceased by his sister, Julia Berberian.
A Funeral Service for Jack will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main St., Andover at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in the funeral home from 4 – 7 PM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the West Parish Cemetery in Andover. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Jack’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
