Obituary

Smither (Williams) Vanagel, 86, of Lynn, beloved wife of the late Edward Vanagel, died Sunday, Aug. 3 at the Abbott House after a brief illness. Born, raised and educated in Coffee County, Alabama. The daughter of the late Walton and Fannylou Williams.
Mrs. Vanagel had been a 20-year employee at the former Raymond’s Department Store as a sales clerk. She was an avid bowler belonging to the Starlight League of Salem and the Post Office Alleys in Lynn. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Jamie A. Vanagel and his wife Allison of Manchester, N.H., Jeremie C. Vanagel of Londonderry, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jaidyn. She was predeceased by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas E. and Catherine C. Vanagel, grandson Nicholas E. Vanagel Jr., brothers, Olen, Orville, Otis and Dewey Williams, sisters, Joy Bowman, Nevada Goodson, Mavis Collins, Grace Newcomb and Myrtice Baker.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the NADWORNY FUNERAL HOME, 798 Western Ave., Lynn. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boston Street, Lynn. Visiting hours Tuesday from 3-7 p.m.
