Obituary

FRAMINGHAM: Pat Tierney, a long time resident of Brookline, most recently of Saint Patrick's Manor in Framingham, passed away August 2, 2014 - three days shy of her 94th Birthday.

An adventurous, intrepid and fiercely independent woman, Pat was a long time employee of the United States Foreign Service. During times of peace and turmoil, Pat was stationed in Greece, Algiers, Vietnam and Morocco.

Upon her retirement, Pat enrolled in Harvard University Extension School earning a Liberal Arts Degree in support of her passion; Art History.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (Buchanan) Tierney, her siblings John Jr., Dorothy Workman, Helen Cody, and George Tierney, and their spouses.

Proud Aunt of Patricia Cody, James Cody and his wife Lila, David Workman and his wife Eileen, George Tierney, Jr. and his wife Patti, Paul Tierney and his wife Rose, Robert Tierney and his wife Kathy, Gary and John Tierney. Sadly, Pat was preceded in death by her niece Joanne (Tierney) and her husband Jon Adamson, and her nephew Stephen Tierney, who passed away in July, leaving his wife Jessica.

She is also survived by the next generation of nieces and nephews who enjoyed her company and stories of her travel: Christopher, Conor, Julia, John, Kevin, Flora, George and William Tierney

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Chapel at Saint Patrick's Manor, Central Street, Framingham, on Thursday, August 7th at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

A brief period of visitation is planned prior to the Mass, beginning at 8:30 am at the Chapel at Saint Patrick's Manor.
