Adeline I. Mingolelli

Adeline I. (Salemme) Mingolelli, age 98, of Winchester, passed away at the Winchester Nursing Center on July 31, 2014. She was the Beloved wife of the late Guy L. Mingolelli.

Born in Boston, she the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Grasso) Salemme. Adeline was raised and educated in Medford, and was a graduate of Medford High School with the class of 1933. She married the love of her life, Guy Mingolelli, in 1937. They lived in Somerville until they moved to Winchester in 1950 and resided there for 64 years. They shared 61 years of marriage until his passing in 1998. A homemaker, devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Mingolelli took pride in her home and raising her children, and enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing and knitting sweaters and clothing. In her spare time, Adeline was a member of the Winton Club, was an accomplished Bridge player, and participated in ballroom dancing competitions with her husband. She also was a big Red Sox fan.

Adeline was the loving mother of Robert Mingolelli and his wife Jane of Groton, the late Richard Mingolelli and the late Regina Pekoz. She was also the dear sister of the late Mary Nahigian and the late Theresa Marabella, the loving grandmother of Erol and Kenan (Anna) Pekoz, Joseph and David (Veronica) Mingolelli, Christine (Aaron) Yeaton and Anne (Robert) Burgolzher and devoted great-grandmother of Samantha Sawyer, Sammy and Maria Mingolelli, Mabel and Ada Pekoz, and Madison Yeaton. She is also survived by a son-in-law Teoman Pekoz of NY and a daughter-in-law Enid Mingolelli of Hamilton, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Mon., Aug. 4 @ 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., at 10AM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held in the funeral home on Sun. from 2-5PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Winchester Scholarship Foundation – Regina Mingolelli Pekoz Scholarship, P.O. Box 174 Winchester, MA 01890 or to the National Brain Tumor Society in memory of Richard Mingolelli, 55 Chapel St.-Suite 200, Newton, MA 02458.
