Lorraine T. (Medeiros) Marshall Marashio, 86, of New Bedford, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at New Bedford Health Care Center after a long illness. She was the wife of S. Paul Marashio and the late Clarence J. Marshall.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William and Alice (Fredette) Mindle, she lived in New Bedford all of her life. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
Mrs. Marashio was formerly employed by the New Bedford School Department for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Freetown Post 6643 and the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Couples Club.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Philip Marshall of Canton, Ohio and David Marshall of Mattapoisett; three stepchildren Richard Marashio of Fall River, Paul Marashio of Fairhaven, and Lynne Schaefer of Plymouth; her devoted granddaughter, Jessica Marnik; her sister-in-law, Irene Medeiros; her faithful cousin, Pat Rodriques and husband Henry; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew; and several cousins.
She was the sister of the late Gilbert R. Medeiros.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 AM in St. Mary's Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
