Martin J. Gildea age 49 of Canton passed away unexpectedly July 29th. Born in Brockton, he was a lifelong resident of Canton. He was a member of Canton High School Class of 1983 where he played on the football and baseball teams. He went on to attend Aquinas College in Boca Raton and graduated from Northeastern University. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed travelling and working in the yard. Beloved husband of Jo-An (Steele). Father of Lauren, Christopher and Jamie Gildea all of Canton. Loving son of the late Kathleen (Eastwood) and George T. Gildea. Brother of George Gildea of PA, John Gildea & his wife Ann Marie of RI, Kerry Gildea of Stoughton, Ellen Leeber & her husband Paul of Hull, Mary Kay Whelan & her husband Brian, Jane Desisto & her husband Peter and James Gildea all of Canton & Matthew Gildea & his wife Susan of Ohio. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial mass will be held at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Wednesday morning August 6th at 11. Visiting hours at the church prior to the service Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 am. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to “Our Neighbor’s in Need” c/o St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021. | |||||
