Essie Mae Lovelady, 80, of Tallahassee, Florida, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Seven Hills Rehabilitation Center in Tallahassee.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Terry Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 7 at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Lovelady was born August 8, 1933, in Alamo, Georgia to the late Truitt Edward and Mary Agnes Parrish Fowler. She was a former resident of Las Vegas, Nevada and had lived in Tallahassee for the past two years. Mrs. Lovelady was a homemaker and also a former cashier at a grocery store and the commissary. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Kenneth Lovelady of Tallahassee, Florida; a son: Thurman and Sheri Lovelady of Tallahassee, Florida and a daughter: Susan Veronee of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ann Weeks Smith of Tifton and Dot Spivey of Douglas and one brother: Hollis Fowler of Seminole, Florida.
