Obituary

Laconia-----Patricia Anne Trombly Castrucci, 79, of Laconia, passed away on Sunday night, July 27, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Patricia was attended to by her family and friends round the clock in her home in the weeks leading up to her passing.
Patricia was born in Laconia on March 27, 1935, the daughter of the late Anna (Veroneau) and Arthur C. Trombly. Patricia was soon followed by her brother, the late Richard Laurence Trombly, and sister, Mary Trombly Castrucci. She did well in school and made new friends easily, many of whom she kept her entire life. She attended St. John’s School (St. Joseph’s Parish) and Laconia High School and then graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science from Mount Saint Mary College in Hooksett, NH.
Patricia moved to Boston to work for three years as a Laboratory Technologist at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, where she met her future husband of 52 years, Richard Francis Castrucci of Southbridge, Massachusetts. Patricia moved to London, England for three years to work at the Royal Free Hospital doing medical research. Patricia and Richard were married in Laconia on May 5, 1962 and then spent the next 20 years moving to Richard’s various duty stations during his career as an officer in the U.S. Navy. The couple relocated to Laconia in 1980 and Patricia worked in the labs at the Laconia Clinic and Lakes Region General Hospital as a medical technologist. Patricia and her sister, Mary, married brothers, Richard F. and William G. Castrucci, Jr. respectively.
Patricia was a passionate and committed fan of the Boston Red Sox, an avid and talented quilter and an active and faithful member of the Catholic Church. Over the course of her life, she collected an ever-increasing number of devoted friends and donated her talents generously in creating quilts for various charitable organizations. Patricia was a woman who focused on family, friends and faith; she was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, who dedicated day and night to the loving care and consideration of Patricia throughout her illness. Richard and Patricia enjoyed a lifetime of love, faith, fun, family, and friends. She is survived by her sister, Mary Castrucci; and her four children: David Castrucci of Napa, CA and his wife, Dawn, and their three children, Tyler, Austin and Abigail; Pamela Castrucci of Gorham, ME and her children, Rhys and Rhiannon; Elizabeth Castrucci of Laconia; and Kathleen Pratt of Exeter, NH and her husband, Gregory Pratt, and their children, Andrew and Deryn. Patricia is survived by 4 sisters-in-law, 5 cousins, 25 nieces and nephews, 57 grand nieces and nephews and 1 great grandnephew. She is predeceased by her parents, brother, 4 brothers-in-law and her two grandsons, Caelan and Griffyn Saunders.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 4pm - 8pm at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street in Laconia, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andre Bessette Parish at St. Joseph’s Church at 11am on Thursday, July31, 2014 located at 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH. Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Laconia, NH.
