Gykala Sue (Lawler) Jones, 75, of Alexandria, died July 25, 2014 at her home. She was born on December 18, 1938 in Anderson, the daughter of Hector and Nila " Gyneath" Lawler. She was an area resident most all of her life and was employed as a bookkeeper for several area businesses. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church and Quilt Guild, and loved NASCAR.
She is survived by her son Chris ( wife Ruby) Simpson; special friend Tony Smith; brother Gordon (Pamela) Lawler; Grandchildren: Matt (Kitty) Simpson, Dustin Simpson, Erica (Jeff) Dennin, Amanda Simpson, Alexis Wilson, Kylee Simpson, Rachel (Steven) Curry, Ryan Inglis, Amanda (Jason) Shepherd; Great Grandchildren; Gwen, Sebastian, Emma, Bella, Brooklyn, Colten, Jeffrey, Nash, Charley, Hayden, Ryder, and Brooklyn S. Several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Kevin Simpson.
Services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service with Kent Stookey officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th from 3-7 PM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society.
