Obituary

Anthony E. “Bassie” Mucciarone, 86, of Franklin, died July 25, at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Judith (Bertone) Mucciarone for 55 years.
Born in Franklin, February 9, 1928, the son of the late Emilio and Maria L. (Mucciarone) Mucciarone, Mr. Mucciarone was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Mr. Mucciarone was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin.
Mr. Mucciarone had worked as a welder for several train companies throughout his 40 year career.
He began working for the New York and New Haven Railroad, the Penn Central Railroad, Amtrak and finally Conrail.
He was a past president of the Moose Club and a member of the San Angelo Club, the St. Anthony Society, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Workers.
Bassie loved world history and also the history of trains. He was also an avid New England sports fan as well.
Bassie will be remembered as a good family man.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his loving daughters, Luana Jolly and her husband Paul of Franklin and Lisa Kiley and her husband Joe of Franklin.
He was the brother of the late Frank Mucciarone and Marie Vendetti.
He is also survived by his grandsons Jarod Jolly and his fiancé, Jacqueline Pratt and Justin Jolly and Jacob Kiley.
He is also survived by his sister-in laws, Angie Carlucci and Dorothy Mucciarone.He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank Dr. Sgalia, the Franklin Fire Department, the staff of the Maples Rehabilitation Center for all their help and care. We would like to express special thanks to dear friends Edward and Maria Colace for all the help they gave us.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 31 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com ) 131 Main Street Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8p.m.
