Evangeline (Arruda) Furtado, age 92 formerly of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Catholic Memorial Home. She was the wife of the late Alfred “Fred” P. Furtado and the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Estrella) Arruda. Prior to retiring, Evangeline worked as a supervisor for Lamport’s Mfg.
She is survived by her niece Lorraine Medeiros, and her husband Paul of Swansea and their children. She was the sister of the late John “Sally” Arruda and Irene Perry.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in the SS. Margaret & Mary Chapel of Catholic Memorial Home. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. There Are No Separate Day Calling Hours.
