Anne (Cieszka) Gorski, formerly of Lynn, died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 22 at the age of 95 years old. She was the wife of the late Stephen R. Gorski and daughter of the late John and Julia (Krawczyk) Cieszka.
Born in Wilmington, Del., she moved to Lynn and attended St. Michael’s Grammar School and Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1936. Member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and St. Michael’s Retirees Club; former member of the Infant of Prague Guild and the Quo Vadis Dance Club. She received her teacher’s aide certification from North Shore Community College and worked at Lynn Hospital in her earlier years as a nurse’s aide.
She was employed as an executive secretary at the General Electric River Works division for 15½ years in the turbine department. After many years as a wife and homemaker, she went back to work as an EKG technician at Lynn Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 1987. She also was a volunteer at NSMC/Union Hospital for a number of years.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Sozek, and her husband Peter of North Smithfield, R.I.; her two sons, Stephen R. Gorski and his wife Jacqueline of Lynn, Robert A. Gorski of Salem; two grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany Gorski of Lynn; brother Anthony Cieszka and his wife Blanche of Lynn; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers John and Joseph Cieszka.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the NADWORNY FUNERAL HOME, 798 Western Ave., Lynn, on Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
