Rita Yvette (LaBonte)Call, age 95 of Brockton, died July 22, 2014 at New England Sinai Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of the late Roland W. Call. Rita was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Archille and Ida (Gagne) LaBonte. Rita moved to the Portland, Maine area upon marriage in 1957, returning to Brockton in 2011.
Following 30 years employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Rita retired from the Mercy Hospital of Portland, Maine. She had been a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Brockton and Holy Trinity Parish of Lisbon Falls, Maine
Rita was the sister of Albert and Henry LaBonte both of Brockton, the late Jeannette Parker and Constance Desgrosseilliers and the late Roland, Rudolph, Hervey and Rene LaBonte. She also leaves her dear friends the Claire and Don Austin family of Brunswick, Maine.
She was a favorite aunt of Carol Ann and Charlie Sweet of Pembroke; Paul and Judy Desgrosseilliers and Dennis LaBonte of Brockton; Cheryl and Mike Davis of Hanson; Archie and Patti Desgrosseilliers, Barbara, Bill and Ruthie LaBonte all of Bridgewater; and Ron Desgrosseilliers of Plymouth. Two nephews, Richard Parker and Raymond LaBonte and a niece, Janet Gillis predeceased her.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Saturday, July 26 from 3-6 pm with a prayer service at 5:30. Following cremation, burial in Lunt Cemetery, Brunswick, Maine will occur at a later date.
