Thomas F. Grealy passed away peacefully at his home on Monday with his family by his side. He was 81.

Tom was born and raised in Boston, the son of the late Thomas and Katherine (Corbett) Grealy. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and after his discharge was married and settled in Medford. Tom served on the Medford Police Department, later joined the Metropolitan Police and served the rest of his career with the State Police, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed spending time with his family on Cape Cod. He loved Irish music and a good cup of tea.

The beloved husband of Ann (McManus) Grealy, he was a devoted father to Michael Grealy and his fiancé Allison Kane of South Boston, Maureen Tringale and her husband Michael of Medford, Kadie Grealy and Diane Valcanas of Derry, NH, Mariann Cinella and her husband Steven of Medford and Erin Grealy of Medford. He was a loving papa to Jared, Devin, Kirsten, Deirdre, Tommy, Alanna, Teddy and Caitlin. He was a dear brother to Ann Sullivan, Sally Finocchio and the late John, Peter and Eileen Grealy. Father-in-law of the late Sharlene (Feeney) Grealy. He is also survived by his many grand-dogs.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, July 26, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford St., Arlington, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with committal at Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4 – 8 PM.

The family would like to thank the MGH Multiple Myeloma Research Group and staff especially Dr. Raje and Jill Nelson Burke who took special care of him.
