Obituary

Mr. David R. Cobb, of Taunton, died Monday, July 21 in Taunton Nursing Home following a period of failing health. He was the former husband of Marcia A. (Card) Cobb of Florida. He was born 84 years ago in Wakefield, the son of the late Herbert and Mabel (Bohls) Cobb. He was educated in Hingham and had been a Taunton resident for the past 20 years. Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed sign painter in the Taunton area for 20 years. Many of his customers referred to David as “Rembrandt.” He previously owned and operated The Galley Restaurant in Cohasset for 10 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War era with the 1801st AACS Group at Rhein Main AFB in Germany and at Hamilton AFB in California. David enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, and was an avid New England Patriots fan.
He leaves: 2 sons: Darryl Cobb of Florida, and Christopher Cobb of Taunton; 1 daughter: Belinda Brendler and her husband Larry of Florida, 3 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street on Thursday, July 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Prayer Service will follow the Visitation at 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
