Winter Park, FL – Dennis R. Gilman, 71, of Winter Park, FL died on Sunday, July 20th in Florida Hospital South in Orlando after an illness.
Dennis was married to Janice (Stolberg) Gilman who died in 2012. He is survived by 1 son, Mark Gilman and his wife Kamoltip of Winter Springs, FL; 2 daughters, Michelle Holmes and her husband Leslie of East Brookfield, MA and Pamela Ulcena of Florida; 3 step sons, Donald Fiore of Tampa, FL, John Fiore of Auburn, MA and Robert Fiore of Casselbury, FL; 2 step daughters, Joyce Swedberg of Worcester, MA and Jean McCarthy of Auburn, MA; a brother, Kenneth Gilman of Cape Cod, MA; 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Mr. Gilman was born in Marlborough, son of the late Richard and Jeannette (Lesage) Gilman and is also predeceased by a sister, Maureen Adams.
Dennis was the director of security for the Radisson Hotel in Orlando, FL. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Florida and previously belonged to the Knights of Columbus in Leicester where he served as a Grand Knight. Dennis was an avid coin collector and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 24th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 am in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday, July 23rd from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
